The Alpine Formula 1 squad is in the process of appointing a new full-time team principal following the sudden departure of Oliver Oakes at the beginning of May. Oakes resigned shortly after his brother was arrested, leading to Flavio Briatore temporarily covering the role. However, Briatore, acting as an executive advisor to Renault, is not a full-time employee, so the racing director is the official representative. During the team representatives’ press conference, Briatore mentioned they are actively seeking a replacement but will take their time to make the right decision. The search for a new team principal involves finding someone who understands the role and wants to be part of the team, with Briatore indicating that a decision will be made promptly once they find the right candidate.
